Reliability is a data problem hiding in an engineering job
Sixty-year-old reliability workflows collapse the moment you treat them as a dataset. Here's what I see when I squint at a FMECA from the data side.

Draft placeholder — replace with your own writing.
Reliability engineers spend most of their time moving numbers between spreadsheets. The numbers are good. The moving is the problem. Everything downstream — FMECA, growth models, contractual deliverables — is a function of how clean the upstream part library is. Fix the library, and you fix the analysis. Fix the analysis, and you fix the schedule.
Three things I'd change tomorrow
- Treat the part library like a database, not a tab.
- Version every change to stress factors like you'd version code.
- Kill the copy-paste pipeline between CAD and reliability tools.
